At San Simon Elementary, we provide our Tohono O’odham youth with the educational programs they deserve. Our dedicated faculty and staff tailor instruction to meet the unique needs of our Kindergarten through 8th-grade students residing in the western portion of the Tohono O’odham Nation. Support from elders and family members is integral to every student’s education and life.

Students come to San Simon School with different skills, experiences and backgrounds. We provide a quality education that respects, celebrates and preserves our cultural identity. Through academic and cultural learning initiatives, the next generation of the Tohono O’odham Nation is prepared for the future. San Simon Elementary School develops and supports each student's overall well-being and assists them in improving their academic achievement.

Programs & Clubs

Participation in extracurricular activities and academic enrichment programs is a great way for students to form friendships with peers who share their interests. Students discover new talents, build community and develop leadership skills when participating in our various programs and clubs.

Gifted & Talented

Our gifted and talented program provides appropriate services for students who will benefit from the opportunity to learn at greater depth and acceleration than their peers. Our program is designed to meet the unique needs of our gifted and talented students not typically provided for in the regular school program.

Athletics

Extracurricular sports programs teach the important values of sportsmanship, exercise and teamwork. Our goal is to promote friendship among teammates, provide leadership opportunities and help students develop a positive attitude through athletic competition.

Traditional Dance

Our traditional dance program embodies our cultural pride and serves as a tribute to our ancestors and elders, who have preserved and passed down this cherished tradition over the centuries.
