Programs & Clubs

Participation in extracurricular activities and academic enrichment programs is a great way for students to form friendships with peers who share their interests. Students discover new talents, build community and develop leadership skills when they participate in our various programs and clubs.

Athletics

Extracurricular sports programs teach the important values of sportsmanship, cooperation and teamwork. Our goal is to promote friendship among teammates, provide leadership opportunities and help students develop a positive attitude through athletic competition.

Gifted & Talented

Our gifted and talented program provides appropriate services for students who will benefit from the opportunity of learning at greater depth and acceleration than their peers. Our program is designed to meet the unique needs of our gifted and talented students who are not typically provided for in the regular school program.

What Does Gifted & Talented Mean?

We define a gifted and talented student as a child or youth who displays superior intellect or advanced learning ability when compared to others of the same age, experience or environment. These individuals will show evidence of high achievement capability in such areas as intellect, academics, creativity, the arts, leadership or a specific academic field.

Requirements

To qualify for the gifted and talented program, students must score within the top percentile of a cognitive test and provide recommendations from teachers, family members or community leaders.

Gifted & Talented Classes

Students attend a special class where they participate in art and STEM activities designed to enhance their talents. Students also participate in the annual Arizona Science and Engineering Fair, and when possible, monthly field trips.

Traditional Dance

We are proud of our Native American heritage. Our traditional dance program is a beautiful expression of our pride and a symbol of respect to those who have passed down the tradition of dance through many centuries.

Eligibility

To participate in the traditional dance program, students must provide three recommendations and examples of their performances or work. Community members, family and teachers may provide recommendations.
