Community Back-To-School Celebration

Dear Community Partner,
San Simo:n Elementary School would like to extend an invitation to your program to participate in our Back-to-School
Open House and Community Resource Fair.
For many years, San Simo:n Elementary School has hosted an annual Beautification Project, where community members,
district employees, parents, and staff came together to prepare our campus for the new school year. Volunteers assisted
with planting, laying gravel, trimming trees, removing weeds, and completing other projects that helped create a
welcoming environment for our students.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced a decline in community and parent participation. As a result,
we would like to take a new approach this year by hosting our Open House earlier in the summer. Our goal is to
strengthen family engagement, build relationships before the first day of school, and reconnect families with the many
resources available throughout our community.

Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet their child's teacher, coaches, and school staff prior to the start of
the school year. Families will also be invited to visit classrooms and tour key areas of the campus, including our Library,
Gymnasium, and Culture Classrooms.

We are extending an invitation to tribal programs, community organizations, and service providers to set up informational
booths and share resources with our students and families. We welcome programs that provide educational, cultural,
health, wellness, youth development, recreation, family support, and community services. If your program offers
activities, demonstrations, giveaways, screenings, or other services, we encourage you to participate.

San Simo:n Elementary School will host its Back-to-School Open House and Community Resource Fair on Tuesday, July
28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participating programs are encouraged to arrive as early as 11:00 a.m. to allow
sufficient time for booth setup and preparation before families begin arriving.

All information booths will be in the school gymnasium. To support our participating organizations, San Simo:n
Elementary School will provide tables and chairs for each booth space. Programs are welcome to bring banners,
informational materials, promotional items, and any additional resources they would like to share with families.
We believe this event will provide a valuable opportunity for families to connect with local resources while celebrating
the beginning of a successful school year. We hope your program will join us in supporting the students and families of
San Simo:n Elementary School.
